The Demeris family has proven that Greeks make great Bar-B-Q, but did you know that our delicious pies are a Greek original, as well? According to Time magazine, “Historians trace pie’s initial origins to the Greeks, who are thought to be the originators of the pastry shell, which they made by combining water and flour.”
Those original pies weren’t filled with good stuff like ours – Pecan, Apple, Cherry, Coconut, Chocolate and Lemon Meringue, Egg Custard – but they represent yet another contribution that our Greek ancestors made to modern day culture.
